What is the Stamford Mentoring Collaborative?
The Stamford Mentoring Collaborative champions youth mentoring. Collectively we build capacity,
serve as a resource, and help implement best practices to expand productive alternatives for our city's youth.

EVERYBODY WINS! POWER LUNCH PROGRAM: (Elementary School Site Program)
Everybody Wins! Power Lunch Program is a lunch time literacy and mentoring program. Reading mentors are recruited from
companies and matched with elementary school children for weekly, one-on-one reading sessions.

STAMFORD MENTORING PROGRAM: (Middle and High School Site Program)
The Stamford Mentoring Program would like to reduce the barriers to academic achievement
for at-risk students allowing them to improve their grades and attendance so they are qualified
to take rigorous classes in high school and graduate prepared for college and/or career training.

EARN AND LEARN CT: (Middle and High School students Group Program)
Earn and Learn CT is an incentive and mentoring program which commences with selected
Middle School students. It is a privately sponsored and community run program. We believe
that with the right support system, every student can succeed. By providing financial incentives
and individual mentoring to each of our student "employees", we assist program participants
in reaching their full academic and personal potential.

Through its schools, community centers and after school programs, DOMUS serves over 1000 vulnerable
children each year. Mentor opportunities include site - group- and community based programs.

FUTURE 5 (A DOMUS Team Program for High School students):

iMENTOR: (High School Site e-Mentoring program with Corporate Partnerships)
The mission of iMentor is to pair youth from underserved communities with a caring adult who
will help them grow both academically and personally. iMentor is being used with high school
students in programs getting them ready for college with a mentor through weekly email
curriculum and monthly get-togethers.

The Youth Services mentoring initiative is through the
Stamford Mentoring Partnership (STAMP) with a mission to promote the development of caring, responsible and successful young citizens by matching
them with positive role models from the community that give them direction and opportunity through mentoring.
STAMP will work with the Stamford Mentoring Collaborative to provide support services to approved Best Practice Mentoring providers in the City
of Stamford.
STAMP will support mentor program needs through hosting monthly mentoring collaboration meetings, new & ongoing Mentor training, recruitment,
Ropes Adventure course events, and event updates and calendar on the Youth Services website.
STAMP will help to direct parents and adults interested in mentoring with the appropriate mentoring programs that fit their needs.
Vision:
STAMP hopes that by supporting the Stamford Mentoring Collaborative that:
· Every child who needs and wants a mentor has one;
· Mentoring programs are well managed, an have the resources meet the need, and demonstrate proven models of
best practices;
· The community is engage in collaborative partnerships that support mentoring, and
· Mentoring is a common and valued way of life.
