|
|
Under the general direction of the Controller, plan and conduct audits, reviews and analyses of municipal accounts, systems, and financial and operational practices to help ensure that all financial policies and practices and legal requirements are being met and that the City has a sound and effective internal control environment. Complete independent investigations, analyses, and special projects to help management ensure effective asset utilization, cost-effective business practices, sound internal controls, and policy compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college/university; record of academic achievement. At least six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and financial management required and experience as an Internal Auditor, preferably in a well regarded municipal, county or state government environment. SHIFT FOREMAN - WPCA
|
|
Under the general direction of the Water Pollution Control Bureau Chief or designee, performs supervisory work in conjunction with the operation and maintenance of the Water Pollution Control Facility and collection sytem; may be assigned to work evenings, nights and weekends; does related work as directed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduated from an accredited high school and four (4) years of experience in waste water treatment plant operatiions OR four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in electrical and mechanical maintenace, three (3) years of which shall have been in the operation of a wastewater treatment plant Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as described above.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a Connecticut DEP Class III Wastewater Treatment Operator or Operator in Training certificate. (Copy of certificate must be attached to application). Must pass comprehensive medical examination prior to being employed. The Stamford WPCA operates as a "quasi-municipal corporation" managining a Class IV 10 million + gallon/day waster water treatment plant. The Executive Director, under the general direction of the Water Pollution Control Authority Board and the administrative direction of the Director of Operations, is responsible for the planning, maintenance, operation and management of the Water Pollution Control Authority and the maintenance of the sewage system, sanitary pumping stations and the Hurricane Barrier and its pumping stations.
