Corelli and Alice C. Fortunato, Registrars of Voters, will hold a Voter Registration Session on Saturday, October 20, 2007 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. On Tuesday, October 30, 2007 from 9:00 Am to 8:00 PM at their office on the 6th Floor of the Stamford Government Center, 888 Washington Boulevard. Those interested must be citizens of the United States, residents of Stamford, and have or will have attained the age of 18 on or before November 6, 2007. Please bring identification. Proof of residency is required (driver's license, passport, utility bill, Connecticut ID Card, paycheck, bank check or statement, or current government document). During this registration session, the Registrars will hear requests for adding to the registry list the names of persons previously removed. There will be a limited Voter Registration Session on Monday, November 5, 2007 from 9:00 AM until 12 Noon for the purpose of admitting only those persons whose qualification as to age, citizenship, or residence in Stamford were attained since the October 30, 2007 registration date. Stamford residents who have recently moved within Stamford should notify the Registrars of their change of address before October 23, 2007. Changes can be made by calling (203) 977-4011 or (203) 977-4012. Voter Registration is conducted in the Registrars' Office daily Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM, or to request a mail-in Voter Registration form please call (203) 977-4011 or (203) 977-4012. All Voter Registration forms must be submitted to the Registrars or postmarked no later than October 23, 2007. Voter Notification Cards will be mailed from the Registrars' Office approximately ten to fourteen days prior to the November 6th election and will include polling site confirmation. In keeping with the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), each of Stamford's 20 polling locations will include one voting machine designed to allow residents with disabilities the opportunity to vote privately and independently.
