Registered voters who are unable to vote in person on Primary or Election day, may choose to vote by Absentee Ballot. Please note that these ballots are handled by the Town Clerk's Office, not the Registrars of Voters Office.

After the application is processed, the actual Ballot is then mailed (or given personally) to the voter. A voter may request an Absentee Ballot Application at any time, however, the Absentee Ballot is not available until 30 days before a Primary or Election. The Ballot must be returned before the close of the polls on Primary or Election Day.

You may also choose to vote by Absentee Ballot, in person, at the Town Clerk’s Office any time during normal business hours, before Election Day.

Connecticut allows you to vote by Absentee Ballot for the following reasons only: 1) Absence from town; 2) Military service; 3) Illness; 4) Physical disability; 5) Religious tenets;
6) Service as an election official.

If you have questions or need more information on Absentee Ballots, please call (203) 977-5280.
